Partnering with Parents

Partnering with Parents

We recognise that every parent wants the best for their child and our first priority is to work in close partnership with you to help your child to settle in and to feel safe. Every child at Colourbox has a 'key person' (please see our Key Person Policy) who will be your main contact within your child's room, and, more importantly, will become a trusted and familiar adult to whom your child can relate. Your key person will guide you and your child through the settling in period. Because each child’s settling in experience is as individual as they are we do not limit the number of settling in visits.

Parents are invited to contribute their ideas and suggestions through our ‘Parent Link’ group. This is open to all parents and meets on average three times a year in addition to acting as a ‘sounding-board’ for new initiatives. We also hold Parent Information evenings (covering topics such as “Helping your child with language and literacy”) and family activities e.g. picnics, camping days, Christmas celebrations and Summer Graduation teas. You will be informed about these by your key person and through newsletters and noticeboards.

We participate in the Government nursery-funding scheme and would be delighted to advise you how this scheme might benefit your child. We also accept employer’s nursery vouchers.

We take our duty to promote the protection and welfare of all children seriously and we therefore use Suffolk County Council’s ‘Safer Recruitment’ procedures to ensure that all staff and volunteers are thoroughly vetted. We also provide ongoing Safeguarding training and Health & Safety training for our team in accordance with best practice and current statutory requirements.

"We will never be able to express how much Colourbox Montessori, and especially our son's teacher, have meant to us all as a family. Thanks to your constant efforts Aidan is well prepared for school and for future learning"

"Our daughter chooses to go to Colourbox over having a day off - giving us reassurance about the decision we made over 3 years ago when she first started. Her primary school has a huge act to follow! We will be very sad to move on but we do so knowing that Gabriella has the background to do well. Thank you Colourbox!"

"Having started in The Nest right through to The Ocean room we are genuinely sad to be at the end of Archie's Colourbox journey. We knew nothing about Montessori at first, but we couldn't be more thrilled with the amazing start that it has given him."
